QinetiQ, one of the world’s leading defence technology and security companies, has recently launched its latest product - Ocellus S100. The device is a super sensitive GPS remote surveillance and tracking device that can be used to monitor almost anything even the in the most remote regions.

“The S100 can be used to monitor the location of vehicles, assets and cargo anywhere in the world and is able to operate in environments where traditional GPS struggles, such as urban canyons, under heavy foliage and even indoors, and permits installation in locations where a direct sky view is not available.”

The central component of Ocellus S100 is the Q20 high sensitivity GPS receiver. The Q20 GPS receiver is so sensitive that it is actually a thousand times more sensitive than standard GPS devices. In May of 2005 the Q20 GPS receiver was acknowledged as the best new electronic, communication or internet protocol product at the Security Industry Innovation Awards at the IFSEC exhibition. Due to the high sensitivity of the Q20 receiver the Ocellus S100 can actually work even when hidden inside a vehicle or fitted on its underside.

Aside from the award-winning receiver, Ocellus S100 is also equipped with an activity sensor that enables it to detect motion. This allows the unit to update its position each time it changes location.
