That title caught your attention, didn’t it? Well when we first heard of tiny rumors to this effect, our ears perked up as well! It seems that today, the biggest things in the gadget world revolve around mobile phones and gaming. So why not combine the two?

Sony Ericsson seems to be in the perfect position for such a venture with Sony having a firm niche in the gaming market and Ericsson having its own say in the mobile phone industry. It is thus no wonder that Samsung is getting a bit edgy with Sony’s patent application regarding this mystery device. Samsung has even more reason to be on its toes as what Sony has filed has some similarities to their i7 PMP, which was launched early this year!

In any case, what do we know about Sony’s rumored PSP phone? Their patent filing says a lot with the diagrams shown above. The device looks very much like the PSP but it has a rotating part which will give users access to either the gaming controls or the keypad needed for a phone. That’s not all – this gadget seems to have so much potential. From phone to mobile gaming console, why not include video and TV capabilities as well? Oh and don’t forget the music scene. Sony Ericsson has already proved itself to be excellent in that respect.

We don’t know about you guys but this is something that can really stir up one’s blood – especially if you are a Sony fan.
