Sony has always been the leader when it comes to camcorders. They have been pioneers in the field so now that the era of hard drive based camcorders is coming up, it is not surprise that Sony once again has something in store for us. Its new camcorder, the HDR-SR5C, is meant to capture high definition video and has the capability to store it too. With its whopping 100 GB hard drive, you can film for far longer than most any other camcorder today.

The HDR-SR5C has 10x optical zoon and 80X digital zoom and Carl Zeiss® Vario-Sonnar® T* lens. Perhaps our favorite thing about this camcorder – aside from all that storage space of course – is that you can operate on Dual Record Mode and take still pictures while recording video as well. On that note, you can take still photos directly and store them onto a separate Memory Stick Duo™ Media. This means that Sony lovers would already have this handy and merely insert the memory stick to other devices in order to view the photos they have taken.

Other features include the Super SteadyShot® Picture Stabilization System which reduces the effects of shaking and vibration. In order to access your videos and photos, the HDR-SR5C has USB 2.0 support. So just plug it into your computer’s USB port and you are ready to go. Seriously, this camcorder packs a lot of features that are enough to satisfy anyone. Of course, there is a price to pay for all that goodness.
