Robot Nanny

KornTech, a Korean company recognised as a leader in robot technology, has come up with a robot called Rogun. Rogun is shaped like a human and can walk on two legs but its main feature that makes it special is it’s ability to recognise faces and so be able to alert its owner or the parents of its owner in case any stranger comes near the child or an intruder enters an empty home. Rogun can also be controlled remotely using either your mobile phone or your internet so that you can leave your house empty anytime and check on it by making Rogun go on rounds and seeing just how your house is doing.

Rogun is the perfect robot nanny/companion for kids. Aside from its ability to act as a security device it can also act as an entertainment center since the screen on its tummy can serve as a TV screen allowing kids to watch videos whenever they want to. The screen IS pretty small (it’s just 7 inches wide) but still real cool since you would be watching on a robots tummy after all. The embedded cameras used for facial recognition can also be used by parents to check on their kids since Rogun can send images/videos via the internet. Of course your child might not like this feature but this will surely put any parent at ease.

Rogun is already for sale but can only be purchased through KornTech, which build the robot only per order. It comes with a whopping price tag of $100,000 although KornTech plans on marketing it for only $5000 in the future
