Audio Translation

Perhaps the only thing that is more dissected than the Wii console nowadays is the Wiimote. Like anything that revolutionizes gaming the attention the harbinger of new things gets from geeks and gaming enthusiasts worldwide is such that even the very components of devices get scrutinized. The wiimote, is of course, no exception. In fact the Wiimote is the object of such curiosity that even CNN took the time to open their own Wiimote and indulge the world by giving us a peek at inside the “Wii’s Magic Wand”.

What left gamers all over the world excited is the announcement that confirmed previous rumors that the Wii is ready for audio translation. The Wiimote’s already have a built in audio translator. Although it is obviously not being used yet the fact that it was already included in deployed Wiimotes suggests that Nintendo has definite plans for using it in the near future. After all these companies know what they are doing and though the chip is just worth $2 Nintendo surely won’t put anything on the Wiimote that will go to waste. Despite the buzz surrounding this revelation by CNN Nintendo is keeping mum about the whole thing and won’t confirm or say anything about their future plans. Wii users don’t have anything to worry about though because they surely won’t be left out once Nintendo comes out with games that needs audio translation because your Wiimote is up for it. Don’t believe me? Take it apart.
