Oticon’s Epoq - Making the World a Better Place for the Hearing Impaired

June 18th, 2007 · No Comments

Hearing Aid

Oticon’s reputation for making very useful hearing aids is no new thing. This time though Oticon has outdone itself with their new product - Epoq. Epoq works as well as your standard hearing aid but it does more than that for the hearing impaired. Its design has eliminated the most common problems of hearing aid users including being able to pinpoint where the sound is coming from, a non-coordinated right and left hearing aid making it hard to do usual stuff people with no hearing disabilities take for granted, and for those who want to keep up with the latest in technology, the use of the mobile phone - hands free!

Epoq is able to do this all using their proprietary binaural high speed wireless technology which enables the left and right earpieces to communicate at data transfer speeds 100 faster than standard hearing instruments. An add on streamer allows you to use the Epoq just like a Bluetooth headset so you can not only use it to listen to use your mobile phone hands-free but use it to listen to the streamed music as well.

Epoq comes in all kinds of styles from the receiver-in-ear style to the completely-in-canal/mostly-in-canal style. In-ear styles are so discreet they are as good as invisible while the style with receiver in the ear and behind it are very attractively designed. They are very compact, sleek, and comes in different colors. Even the streamers, which look like MP3 players come in black and white.
