According to multiple sources Roboquad is now up for order although a quick look at its website reveals that the “Where to Buy” page doesn’t give any details yet as to where you can place an order.

Roboquad looks really cool (visit their “Watch Here” page to see just how cool it looks and moves) and moves in a really unique multi-directional motion that is spider-like but not quite (after all a spider has to have eight legs and Roboquad as the name suggest has four only). According to their website Roboquad is the first true robotic arthropod with a highly advanced sensory awareness. Roboquad can interact autonomously with its environment as he moves through it reacting not only by sidestepping obstacles but also with a clear personality. You can change its awareness, activity, and aggression levels to suit the personality and behavior you desire. You can set it to flinch or try to “escape” by going to the largest open space when “threatened” if you choose a more timid personality or you can choose a more aggressive personality. Aside from the really advanced sensory awareness a robot is of course not complete without the requisite sound and light effects.
