Ok, Apple bashers this one is for you. Rumor has it that there are Apple execs out there suffering from iPhone anxiety. What is this condition exactly? It is simple really, the people in power are having some doubts about how the public will react once they have gotten an iPhone in their hands.

You have to admit, the hysteria surrounding the iPhone is phenomenal. Thanks to Steve Jobs’ outstanding salesmanship, he has put the Apple brand up on a pedestal, the iPhone being only the latest of many products. In the six months that have passed since Steve Jobs announced the ultimate phone, media player, and web browser (all in one!), the anticipation for the iPhone has become unbelievable. Imagine this: author and syndicated columnist Arianna Huffington has approached Steve Jobs in the hopes of getting the iPhone ahead of others. What was the response? Go to an AT&T store! And don’t think that she is the only well known name to have tried this stunt!

So why are the Apple execs jittery when everyone is loving the iPhone even when they have not held it yet? That is exactly the point! Such high expectations for something only increases the chances of disappointment. So we are all expecting good things from Apple yet again. But just imagine - the slightest glitch in the software, the merest hint of a hardware problem and customers will be calling foul. Now I wouldn’t want to be in their (Apple execs) shoes when or if that happens.
