High Tech Computer Corp, or HTC as many know it, has released some news on its latest smart phone product – the “Touch.” Though the news was announced early this month, many of you probably recognize the phone as the Windows Mobile gadget that was first seen about six months ago. In fact, this phone has already been formally introduced to the public in Germany by company O2 with a different name. Our German friends would recognize this device as the Xda nova. So what is the fuss all about now?
HTC claims they have a surprise in store for us. That is, the Touch is supposedly the first ever device that will be featuring a technology developed by HTC. They call it the TouchFLO touch screen technology. Hmm, touch screens aren’t exactly new, are they? Yet the TouchFLO is supposed to be something different as developed by HTC. Of course, there have been some murmurings that Microsoft has had its hand in the developments.
For those who have forgotten details about the Touch, it measures in at 99.9 x 58 x 13.9-mm – quite handy, really. It operates on Windows Mobile and can be manipulated with the TouchFLO technology using a 2.8 inch screen. Its processor is OMAP850 and it can be used in three bands – 900/1800/1900 GSM with EDGE. The Touch comes WiFi enabled (definitely a plus) and is Bluetooth enabled as well. Its integrated camera is 2 megapixels and its memory can be expanded to 1 GB. Not bad for a smart phone, is it?
