Motorola’s latest contribution to the array of smartphones in the market is here and we are sure that countless Motorola fans are waiting to get their hands on one. Though technically this smartphone isn’t new – Motorola released the first version last year – this updated version seems to hold much promise. What can we say about the Motorola Q9? First off, its keypad is something to smile about. Using a similar style to that of Acer laptop’s keyboard, the curved keypad on this smartphone is QWERTY and easy to use. With its size, fat fingers are not a problem. Something to smile about indeed – its gotten the moniker “smile” keyboard because of its curved style.
With a phone with this size, the main concern would be the battery life. True enough, what use is the smartest of phones if your battery died on you in the middle of the day? With the Q9 though, tests have shown that it could operate pretty much all day. Of course, that is nothing compared to smaller phones in the market but pretty good for a smartphone.
Regarding the software aspect, people who do not favor Microsoft will love the Q9. An Opera browser is preinstalled and instead of MobileOffice, it has DocumentsToGo. Then again, the main OS is Windows Mobile. On the downside, the Q9 has no WiFi capabilities and the screen is small relative to the phone’s size.
So what is the verdict on the updated Q9? Good enough but we’ve seen better
